our SUSTAINABILITY pledge
At Scale and Fabric Studios, we recognise the urgent need to make the events, screen, and production industries more sustainable. With over 150 events and productions hosted annually (and growing!) we understand the environmental impact of our operations and we are committed to reducing it. Our sustainability pledge is not just an in-house policy; it is a shared responsibility. As an independent business rooted in community, we believe a greener, healthier planet is essential for all of us to thrive. That’s why we’re embedding sustainable practices into our work, and we need the help of our clients, too! We believe effective change happens when we’re all on the same page. Let’s build a future which supports creativity and protects the planet.
Our green and sustainable policies include:
Water Conservation & Responsible Use
We are mindful of water consumption across all aspects of our operations. Tap water is always provided during events and shoots to reduce single-use plastic bottles.
Sustainable Toilet Paper
More than just funky packaging, we use Who Gives A Crap toilet paper – a brand that makes 100% recycled and bamboo-based products. Not only does this reduce deforestation and water use compared to conventional toilet roll, but 50% of profits are also donated to help build toilets and improve sanitation in communities in need worldwide. This small everyday choice helps us reduce waste, cut down on unnecessary plastic packaging, and support a company with strong social and environmental values.
Food Waste Reduction & Redistribution
We are provided with food waste bins across our studios by local and independent bin provider Central Waste. These bins are collected separately to generates renewable gas, preventing biodegradable waste from ending up in landfill.
Use of Reclaimed Materials
Use of recycled materials such as reclaimed wood for our iconic wooden flooring and furnishing in our sister studio Fabric Studios to minimise waste, reduces the need for new timber harvesting, and lowers overall environmental impact.
Supporting Local & Independent Suppliers
We collaborate closely with local companies to contribute to the economic resilience of the Northwest. By prioritising local partnerships across the weddings industry and shoot suppliers, it allows us to reduce our carbon footprint while investing in the communities around us.
Sustainable Travel & Carbon Reduction
Located just an 8-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street, we encourage our clients to use public transport where available. We also encourage carpooling amongst staff when travel by car is necessary. By promoting greener travel, we help reduce carbon emissions and the environmental impact of commuting and event logistics.
